CO inspections — Dutch CO safety certification (Bbl) / BRL 6000-25
Since 2023 gas-fired appliances fall under the Dutch statutory CO safety certification scheme (Bbl, BRL 6000-25 / K25000). A loose Excel checklist gets lost, and nobody can demonstrate which installer carried out the CO inspection or whether they were qualified to do so.
Start a CO inspection from the installation or the work order, run through the fixed checklist, and record CO readings + outcome. Koldwerk blocks the inspection if the selected installer has no valid CO-person certificate.
BRL 100 and STEK are Dutch national certification schemes — full support today is NL-only. See our honest country-coverage disclosure.
What it does
- Can only be started on installations of type gas combustion or hybrid.
- Mandatory link to an installer holding a valid CO-person certificate (src/lib/certificaat.ts) — no inspection without the qualification.
- CO concentration unloaded + loaded (ppm), plus a fixed checklist for air supply, flue gas discharge and installation space.
- Outcome: approved, conditionally approved or rejected.
- Chronological inspection history per installation, with a downloadable inspection report (PDF).
- Optional link to the work order the inspection was started from.

How installers use this module day to day
Annual CO check on a central heating boiler
The installer opens the installation, clicks 'Start CO inspection', runs through the checklist and enters the measured CO readings. The outcome and checklist go straight into that installation's history.
CO inspection from an active work order
During maintenance on a hybrid heat pump installation the installer starts the CO inspection straight from the work order — the installation and work-order link are already in place.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What if the selected installer has no CO-person certificate?
The inspection is blocked with a clear error message. Add a valid CO-person certificate via Certificates first, or select a different installer.
Is the checklist official BRL 6000-25 standard text?
No — it is a practical, extensible checklist (combustion air, flue gas discharge, installation space). If in doubt, have it reviewed by a BRL 6000-25 expert before you use it as formal compliance evidence.
Is this the same as the CO certificate under Compliance docs?
No. The CO certificate under Compliance docs is a free-form document. CO inspections is the dedicated flow with a mandatory CO-person link, a fixed checklist and per-installation history.
